Green is a calming hue that gives the home a natural and inviting vibe. If you want to transform your space into a calming haven reminiscent of your favorite summer retreat, a few pops of green will surely do the trick.

Choose green furniture

A green accent piece is a great way to add just the right amount of color to any room. You can choose a sofa with green as base color or you may also place a lime green chair in your study or dining area to add a fresh touch.

Work with green patterns

Patterns add a whole new dimension to any space. Layer a leafy-print placemat on top of a solid colored one to create a balanced look. You can also mix-and-match other patterns as long as you keep within your color palette.

Consider having green walls

With the right shade of green, you can instantly brighten up a dull room. Go bold and paint one or two walls (or all the cabinets) and discover the difference it makes. You may also work with wallpapers with green touches so you'll have various designs to choose from.

Adopt green practices

One more way of adding a touch of green to your space is by helping the environment. Recycling wine bottles into vases and repurposing tin cans into planters can go a long way. Start creating an eco-friendly home with the help of a few simple steps. Start with one area at home so you won't feel overwhelmed.

Choose green accessories

If you're not yet ready to use green permanently, you can start by choosing green accessories and small decor pieces. Opt for green throw pillows and green vases, to name a few. You can add subtle pops of green throughout the house without having to commit to anything long-term.

RL Tip: Curtains are like wallpaper or paint—they add interest to a wall but are easier to change. How about having one or two green curtains that you can use from time to time?
