5 Ways To Maximize Narrow Walls

Add function to the blank panels of your home with these easy ideas

It's safe to assume that "narrow walls" can be found in every home. Measuring around two to three feet wide and typically found in more compact units, these usually serve as a transition between two rooms or as a divider in an open space. More often than not, these panels are left wasted and unnoticed—but, have you ever considered turning it into something functional? Make the most of these walls with these ideas you can try:

If you're lucky enough to have a narrow wall that already has texture, draw attention to it by hanging pieces that would attract the eye to that spot. Try a variety of travel photos or minimalist-inspired prints for maximum effect.

For narrow walls that serve as an extension of an outdoor space, dress it up with hanging planters and a cozy sitting area. Your finished project can be the perfect hangout for warm summer nights.

No space for a proper foyer? Use the limited space you have by the door to create a faux entryway. To complete this spot, invest in a comfortable chair where you can change your shoes, some fresh blooms to greet you and your guests, and a couple of hooks to keep your essentials organized.

Track the schedules of the little ones and give them a space where they can doodle by painting your narrow wall with chalkboard paint. A message center is always a great addition to any home and it's even better when you can place it in your kitchen (the busiest room of the house).

This is probably the best solution to every empty nook—creating a small indoor garden. You can't go wrong with a touch of nature in your home.
