Do you have a plain wall behind and above your television? You can easily decorate the blank space with a couple of interesting prints and patterns. Take things a notch higher by exploring fun ideas like sliding panels and vintage cabinets, too!

Here are five projects that you can do this coming weekend.

Wall-mounted, open shelves

We can't help but love the living area in this Neo-French Provincial Townhouse in San Juan designed by interior designer Mike Suqui! It is bathed in natural light and the space is complete with a comfy sofa and a stylish center table.

The white wall behind the TV is made more interesting with framed prints, photos and decor pieces displayed on wooden open shelves. The wall is made from cement that's manually shaped and painted white to look like brick. You can have the same feel in your space by installing open shelves with quirky shapes and designs.

Got a bookshelf in your living room? Here are styling tips that may come in handy.

Wallpaper and wall decals can make a lot of difference in any space. For the area behind your TV, you may opt for prints with bright shades so that it will pop! Using such materials will make it easier for you to change the design from time to time.

You may also utilize fabrics to spruce up a wall. Click here to learn more.

Sliding panel

Do you want to conceal your entertainment system when it's not in use? You can install wooden panels that will surely add a unique vibe to the space. Feeling extra creative? How about adding a sliding bookshelf instead of wood panels? If you're considering this project, it's best to consult with your trusted carpenter.

Vintage Cabinet

What are your plans this weekend? You may swing by secondhand shops to look for vintage cabinets that you can use to store your TV when it's not in use. Doing this protects your TV from dust and dirt. Aside from keeping your TV in the cabinet, you may also store and organize players, routers, and cords inside as well.

Gallery Wall

Your TV can moonlight as part of an interesting gallery wall that you can create in the living area. Select artworks and prints in rectangular shapes that can work well with your TV. Play with shapes and colors of frames if you have a white wall.

How about mounting your TV on the wall? Consult the user manual that comes with the product and ask help from a carpenter to avoid any damage to your piece and walls.
