5 Wall Decor Ideas For Small Spaces
Let your walls do the talking about how stylish you are
There are a lot of things that you can do to a wall—paint it, cover it with wallpaper, and hang a painting, among other things. Take these a little further by incorporating decor that packs a punch. Here are some ideas:
1. Hang a banig and make it your focal point.
The round banig in magenta displayed on this wall immediately grabs your attention. It also adds texture to the space.
2. Hang a colorful painting on a brightly painted wall.
Who says artworks should only be hung on white walls? In surgeon Rommel Caballes’s eclectic condo unit, an abstract painting by National Artist J. Elizalde Navarro on a red wall keeps the focus away from the small space. The red wall creates depth and echoes some of the colors in the painting.
3. Hang a comic strip for a fun, quirky touch.
It may not be as colorful as other artworks, but this comic strip painted by artist-filmmaker-cartoonist Roxlee serves as a unique focal point in this living area.
4. Use wall stickers.
Decals are easy to use and are versatile, too. You can place them just about anywhere and create arresting forms, like the face of former Real Living creative director Gwyn GS Guanzon in his former condo home. You can get custom-made decals at Mesh Decorative Decals.
5. You can also decorate a divider.
Dividers also function like walls in defining spaces. Jazz them up, too! In this condo unit, the screen divider has nailhead trim accents and is painted in a calming, blue-violet shade. Photos add a personal touch.
