Who doesn’t want to have a beautiful kitchen? All homeowners want to, or at the very least, they want a simple but neat and organized kitchen. You don’t need fancy kitchen countertops or the latest gadgets to make it stylish. Take your cue from the spaces below—they may look simple, but each has its own style and all of them are definitely functional:

1. Personalize your kitchen.

Post notes, doodles, and reminders on your refrigerator. You can also display your travel souvenirs and photos. The important thing to do is to leave a stamp of your personality in your kitchen, whether you’re showcasing it on your refrigerator or kitchen cabinets and countertops.

2. Go for a light color scheme.

Living in a condo where natural light is limited? Choose light colors for your kitchen, like what makeup artist Robbie Pinera did in his condo kitchen. The blue-and-white color scheme also ties in with the French-countryside theme that his whole condo unit sports. Add cove lighting under your kitchen cabinets for added illumination.

3. Add a backsplash in a bright color.

Beige and white may be dominant in this kitchen, but it is far from boring—thanks to the tomato red backsplash that gives it more life.

You can have a backsplash made at Spray Works Coating Corporation, 65-A East Riverside Street, Quezon City.

4. Keep it squeaky clean and clutter-free.

If your kitchen is messy, even the most exquisite countertop material won’t make it beautiful. Invest in simple but effective organizing solutions like cabinets and dish racks. A glass cabinet can also help you see what you need immediately just make sure that the contents of your cabinet are all neatly arranged to help make your kitchen look attractive.

5. Create a theme.

Interior designer Wilan Dayrit created an industrial look for this kitchen found in a townhouse in Pasig. Stainless steel countertops are easy to clean as they are low-maintenance. The black bar stools also suit the theme, while providing seats for when the homeowners want to grab a quick bite in the morning.

Find similar bar stools at Match Contract Furniture, 2100 Chino Roces Ave., Makati City.
