5 Small Spaces that Give Us Home Goals

More than just showcasing how one can maximize tiny spaces, small homes teach us that it’s possible to make it as cozy as possible, with a hotel-like vibe that many homeowners would want to recreate. In the numerous homes we’ve visited and featured, we always discover something new—whether it’s a unique décor element or a fun way to add storage.

To inspire you to get creative on your home sweet home, here are five recently featured spaces that we loved. Each home has a unique characteristic, but all five made us feel that we can live in the units, too:

Is it possible to combine elements such as concrete, wood, and steel, yet still come up with an inviting vibe? This 50sqm home designed by interior designer Wilmer Lopez proves that it is! With brick walls, exposed pipes, and steel pieces—this compact unit perfectly captures what an industrial home is.

To make it homey and to soften up the edgy materials, the designer added neutral furnishings, wooden touches, as well as hints of color all over the place (you need to see how Old Rose was used in the kitchen). Notes from friends and relatives as well as vintage items add a personal touch to the space as well.

In just one month, interior designer Ben Francis Nasayao was able to accomplish the look that the homeowners wanted for their space. From an ordinary 52sqm unit, it’s now a Scandinavian-inspired haven with French elements and a tropical-bohemian vibe. Filled with neutral-colored pieces, the bright and airy home also has a few quirky touches—just see the bathroom and figure out the witty pun!

Those who have temporary homes in the city choose to keep their spaces simple and a bit bare to make it easier to clean and maintain. This 22sqm unit is a beautiful exception. Since the owner wanted to come home to a hotel-like space, interior designer Jean Suzanne Sy worked with country-inspired elements and Shabby chic touches to add warmth to the home.

We especially loved the charming floral wallpaper in the bedroom. Paired with the cushioned headboard, it gives the area a classic and sophisticated appeal.

Are those tiles or a brick-printed wallpaper? Would you believe if we told you it’s the latter? Paired with industrial lights and steel elements, it looks just like the real thing. The living area sets the tone of the whole unit as gray walls, compact furniture, and wall accents complete the space. To keep the home from being too dark, pops of color such as the bright yellow folding door and the colorful area rug with geometric patterns were added.

One would instantly feel at home the moment they step into this 43sqm unit designed by interior designer Ruby Besira. The warmth is undeniable—from the subdued colors, compact living area, and the lovely dining space that’s reminiscent of your favorite coffee shop. It’s the kind of place that one wouldn’t mind staying in for hours or even the whole weekend just to enjoy a relaxing downtime.
