Whether you're walking down the street or sitting comfortably in a car, we're sure that you've passed the time looking at buildings and houses nearby. While skyscrapers can easily grab one's attention, there's nothing like a lovely facade and a charming door to steal your heart away. To inspire you to create a beautiful door that would be the envy of your friends, here are five photos you can use as pegs:

1. Bring on the rustic charm.

While the rustic style is known for the distressed finish, you can still achieve a similar appeal with a black door. Choose a lighter color like white or cream for your exterior and complete the look of your entrance with a woven rug. Spruce it up further with vintage wall lanterns and pails filled with faux blooms.

For similar wall lamps, you can drop by Wilcon Depot.

2. Add a sweet message.

For a dainty look that's classic and sophisticated, you can work with touches of pink, beige, or rose quartz for your door. Aside from displaying flowers, you can make your door extra special by adding a greeting in typography beside the door handle. You can work with Hello, Welcome, and Good Day! Reading these words before they step into your space will surely make guests feel right at home.

RL Tip: You can also work on and improve your house number. Say bye bye to plain numbers by opting for quirky pieces you can purchase from craft stores and even vintage shops. Those who love to work on DIY projects can also create one from scratch using a plank of wood and cans of paint.

3. Repurpose wood.

Do you love the texture and warmth of wood? Get into upcycling by crafting a new door using reclaimed wood. You can visit antique shops or stores along the Tagaytay-Sta. Rosa road to source for pieces. Consult and work with a carpenter to help you accomplish the project. For the complete vintage meets rustic touch, complete your door with industrial door handles in black.

RL Tip: Take your guests back in time by installing an interesting knocker right at the center of your door. You can also opt to have glass glass panels to make it stand out. Just remember to have blinds or a sheer curtain inside for your privacy.

4. Create a cottage-inspired entrance.

We're used to seeing rectangular front doors with glass panels above or on both sides. Take things to the next level by choosing a curved front door instead. This allows you to add an arch and highlight the entrance using your choice of paint color. Aside from being unique, a curved front door also brings to mind fairy tales and gives your home a whimsical look.

5. Be bold and elegant.

Some may shy away from black front doors as it somehow evokes a gloomy vibe—but don't be afraid to test it out. A black door speaks of elegance and will help you establish the modern look of your space. Pair it with a gold or copper door knob and knocker for a stately appeal. Your lock and house number can be in brass or copper, too!
