5 Living Rooms You’d Love to Stay In

Prepare some drinks and comfy pillows because these rooms spell R-E-L-A-X

When we’re not hanging out in our bedrooms or if we’re not in the mood to soak up some sun in the garden, we usually spend some quality time in the living room. If a TV is available, it’s no surprise to find the whole family in the area – complete with snacks and refreshments.

If you’re considering a new look for your living area, here are five pegs that will definitely inspire you to create a space that’s meant for quality time and relaxation.

Bathed in Sunlight

In this 180sqm unit owned by architect Liza Morales-Crespo, sunlight and proper ventilation are two of the most important considerations. Liza, one of the first Filipino architects to be certified as a LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) accredited professional by the U.S. Green Building Council, and her husband Robert wanted a home that coincides with their eco-conscious principles.

Picture windows let the sunlight stream in, giving the space a certain warmth. Pops of red serve as accents in the area while the coffee table is an instant conversation starter – tires were attached to a plank of retazo wood. Potted plants help freshen up the space.

Streamlined Space

This modern Asian home highlights clean lines, wide spaces, and Filipino made décor such as wood carvings and pieces made from native fiber. The first floor – where the living area is found, has neutral colored walls and dark furniture.

In the living area, simple lines are easily seen via the sliding doors and general windows. One would surely love to stay in the area with the perfect view of the lanai outside. Pillows and other accent pieces add a unique Oriental touch to the space.

With a View of Nature

This vacation home is found in a lush landscape surrounded by greenery, trees, and flowerbeds. The house is modern with its sleek lines, simple floor plan, and large, open areas.

The living area is perfect for lounging with just a couple of throw pillows and a comfy banig. The glass doors and windows let plenty of natural light and breeze in while giving guests and owners a magnificent view of the outdoors.

Colorful and Cozy

Maggie Adan’s 63sqm loft-type condo features a mix of pieces with playful patterns like a custom-made console, a blue and white ikat-printed chair, and other knickknacks that complete the forest-inspired feel.

A three-seater sofa in a neutral hue from Mandaue Foam invites guests to relax and get comfy. A colorful space, the living area also has an Orla Keily-inspired ottoman from Crossings Home. Whitewashed shelves with pale blue wood grain-print keep books and precious pieces like ceramic animals and succulents organized.

Airy and Open

Located in Batangas, this home has glass doors, indoor ponds, and unroofed areas that welcome both sunshine and rain showers right into the space. These same elements complete the outdoor vibe that characterize the nature-inspired abode.

The living area has high ceilings, big windows, and wooden furniture that create an airy, tropical feel. From the area, one can see the lanai as well as the pond that runs alongside an uncovered walkway that cut through the center of the house.
