Our bedrooms are a form of refuge for us—it is a place of escape, relaxation and rest, especially after a tiring day at work or school. This is why it is very important that we make design adjustments to keep it a healthy sleeping environment so we can wake up in a good mood everyday. To help you get started, here are some ideas:

There is nothing cozier than a pile of pillows over a fine mattress. Keep your bed from looking like a mess by making sure it is made up from the moment you get up and that your fluffy pieces go well together to avoid a clashing display.

Get the look of a faux-fireplace by gathering and lighting your candles in one spot. You can go with several unscented candles or experiment with mixing different aromas to set the mood in your room.

Who says you can get too old for blanket forts? You can escape your hectic schedule for a few hours by hiding out in this cozy quick fix. You can use tent poles for a sturdy set-up or you can also opt for the the usual chair backs for a more homey feel.

It's best to stick to neutrals when styling a sleep-friendly space. Consider using shades of beige, gray and blue as it is said to help induce a sense of calm and relaxation for the dweller.

A snug bedroom isn't complete without a few hints of warm elements. Play with wooden accents, fresh blooms, and string lights every now and then to turn your personal space into a restful oasis.
