5 DIY Projects for You and Your Kids

Encourage your children to be creative with these fun and easy activities

Now that the summer vacation has officially started, you may want to work on a few DIY projects with your kids. Arts and crafts-related activities can serve as a welcome break from watching TV, surfing the net, or playing with gadgets.

Apart from keeping them busy and entertained, creative pursuits can also give them a chance to use their imagination. These activities can also provide a way for you to spend time quality time together while creating something special for your own home.

Use your hands—literally

Instead of simply framing family photographs, you can frame your hand prints! For this project, dad, mom, and baby dipped their hands in paint and pressed them onto thick white paper.

Make fruit stamps

Make personalized postcards and art prints with citrus fruits! You and your kids can use calamansi, lemons, and oranges as stamps.

Bring out the art supplies

You can also spend an entire afternoon working with the art materials of your choice! You may try non-toxic crayons, oil pastels, markers, watercolor, and sheets of white paper.
