5 Bedrooms For Those Who Work The Graveyard Shift

Get a full eight hours of sleep even in the middle of the day with these ideas

When you go to work during the night, naturally, one needs to go to bed as the sun rises. Shift workers often find it challenging to balance sleep and other activities that one doesn't usually do during the day—the solution? Creating a space that mimics the relaxing vibe of nighttime. Aside from sticking to a cool color scheme of grays and blues (it can help you achieve a calmer state of mind!), here are a few styling ideas you can try:

To keep the morning sun from shining bright into your room, invest in window shutters that can efficiently block daylight out. If you're the type who can't sleep in total darkness, you can add a small lamp behind your desk for a subtle glow.

Boost the tranquil vibe that blue brings by pairing it with neutrals. Feel free to experiment with colors like taupe and beige through pillows that can also make your room extra cozy.

Create a safe space for rest and recreation with a canopy! When it's time to get some shut-eye, simply close the drapes around your bed to make the vibe extra breezy. Stick to sheer sheets to keep it light and airy, too.

If you want a space that is sleek and stylish but still conducive for sleep, dress up your room in different shades of gray. You still get to create a clutter-free space that eases your mind without sacrificing a sophisticated aesthetic.

Keeping the bedroom free of gadgets helps a lot, too! Without smartphones and laptops, your bedroom can become a space solely dedicated for relaxation after long hours of working.
