4 Ways To Repurpose Unused Yoga Mats

Save on cash with these DIY ideas!

We do a lot of trial and error when trying to find a workout routine that suits our lifestyle. Whether it be for Pliates or boxing, chances are, we have spare equipment lying around at home.

Before deciding to get rid of unused items, we suggest you try repurposing some of them.
You'd be suprised to know that one of the things you can maximize are yoga mats—they are made from sustainable material, affordable, and very easy to maintain.

To help you get started, here are a few ideas that you can try:

Prevent water rings and coffee stains with DIY coasters! Simply cut the mat into circles to make mini-trays for beverages. Since yoga mats are absorbent, it will keep any moisture from seeping through your furniture.

RL Tip: To make even circles, use a medium-sized cookie cutter to draw patterns before doing it with scissors!

Shelf Liners

Most mats are made from slip-resistant rubber—making it ideal as shelf liners. Protect your ceramics from unwanted chipping by lining your kitchen with smaller yoga mats.

Cup Sleeves

These are great for taking your morning coffee on-the-go or keeping kids from accidentally burning their fingers when holding warm sippy cups. Cut out strips from bright-colored mats to keep it fun!

If you find keeping fabric placemats clean quite difficult, cut-out extra yoga mats are great alternatives. These are also perfect for adding a pop of color to your table setting when you have guests over.
