Those who've invested their hard-earned cash in their dream home would most likely want to achieve a classic and timeless aesthetic that can stand the test of time. If you've recently bought a property or if you're in the process of renovating your space, you may want to give the modern classic style a chance. It highlights classic pieces, sophisticated elements, and other must-haves that complete a grand home. Get started on the redecorating process with these tips from interior designer and RL assistant style editor Tala Singson:

1. Keep mouldings simple.

Consider adding layers of textures by painting mouldings on cabinet doors in contrasting colors with the door.

2. Choose modern fabric for your furniture.

If you're planning to buy new furniture or have old ones reupholstered, opt for modern fabric. Use it to dress up oval back and wing chairs. To achieve just the right balance, mix these up with industrial-style furniture and lighting.

3. Opt for classic-style wallpaper prints.

Who wouldn't love this charming and cute wallpaper found in a nursery? If you're planning to work with wallpaper, choose ones with a classic print and use them in small rooms to give these areas a boost of character and visual interest.

4. A neutral palette is your best bet.

Aside from being the perfect backdrop for your chosen furniture and accessories, it can be easy to work around neutrals and achieve a casual look. To do this, you can incorporate funky patterns and contemporary art pieces into your space. Add a touch of luxe by injecting hints of metallics, lighting, and working on the scale of your accent pieces.
