Whether you're hanging photos and prints, wall art can instantly add life to your walls and the entire room. If you've recently spotted a charming poster or framed decor, but you don't know to add it to your space, we've got just the right tips for you!

Interior designer Kimi Manuel shares a few reminders on how you can properly style your walls. Read on and start decorating:

Take note of proper placing and height

“Wall decor generally looks best at eye-level in a room with ordinary ceiling height. This places the center of the wall decor such as a frame at 150cm or 5 feet above floor level,” shares Kimi. To check the right height, hold the decor temporarily against the wall and adjust the height accordingly to see how it looks like beside the other elements on the wall.

Create a gallery wall

Got a blank wall in your bedroom or living area? Brighten the space by coming up with your own personal gallery wall. Hang photos from your trips and snapshots of your loved ones, too! Use similar frames to create a uniformed look. You can also use frames in different colors and sizes for an eclectic feel. You may event pair it with 3D wall decor!

Use it as a vignette

Wall decor can also be used to create a vignette on your bedside table or console by the foyer. “Adjust the decor's mounting height so that it creates a pleasing and proportional vignette together with other accessories on the table such as lamps, plants and storage pieces,” Kimi suggests.

Make it personal

To add character to your space, you can use your own works of art as wall decor! Put your drawings, scribbles, and doodles on display. These pieces will definitely catch the attention of your guests and serve as a conversation piece.
