4 Tips on Planning a Bathroom Layout
Take into consideration the space and pieces that you can add
If you're planning to renovate your bathroom soon, a well-planned layout should be one of the most important things that you need to finalize. The bathroom's layout should maximize every inch of space while making sure that the whole area is efficient and safe.
Interior designer Peaches de Guzman-Grey shares helpful insights to help you come up with a layout that suits your needs.

Take note of the space requirements
For an efficient bathroom, you must consider the recommended space requirements to make it easier for you to move around. Keep in mind that it's safe to have at least 21 inches of clear floor space in front of every fixture and allot at least 30 inches by 30 inches for the shower so you can have enough elbow room.
Determine who will use it
A good bathroom layout should always be altered to who uses it. If the bathroom is for you and your spouse, you might want to consider having his or her lavatories. However, if you will share the bathroom with three or more people, it is advisable to allot more space to the area. "Don't rush things! Take time to assess your needs, set a budget, and devise an efficient plan," Peaches shares.
Look for storage
An efficient bathroom has enough storage that's easily accessible. Store your daily supplies and essentials like shampoo, soap, and tissue paper on an open shelf for easy access. You can also add hooks and shelves above the door for overhead storage. Click here for more bathroom organizing tips.
Consider safety first before anything else. “When designing bathrooms, safety should always be your number one priority. There are many accidents that can happen in the bathroom so always choose safety over aesthetics,” Peaches explains.
