4 Styling Tips for Your Entryway

Create a chic and organized space with these handy hints

The entryway is the first part of the house that people get to see when they visit. Unfortunately, this is also the space that we seldom forget to organize and style.

Creating a focal point in this area can leave a lasting impression on your guests. Here are four easy tips to guide you.

Assign a place for catchalls

Keep your essentials in one place by dropping your keys and loose change into a catchall. Use a small bowl or dish to designate where you can place small items.

RL Tip: To anchor its place in a vignette, incorporate decorative items such as a small potted plant and a book.

Use storage bins

It’s essential to have a place for extra storage by the door. Try placing a simple wire basket or a tall cylindrical jar, then add a folded-up bed sheet at the bottom of the bin to catch drips. Both bins will do the job without adding clutter.

Add mirrors

A stylish mirror in the foyer can anchor the whole spot and create an illusion of space. This is very convenient when you’re about to go out and would want to do a last-minute check on your appearance.

Add an area for shoes

Provide a place to sit on where you and your guests change footwear. Placing a bench by the door will give you comfort.

RL Tip: Put a few boxes or baskets underneath the bench to hold shoes, slippers, and boots.
