4 Christmas Decorating Tips for Your Bedroom

Create a cheerful vibe in your private space with these ideas

When decorating and styling the home for the holiday season, we usually focus on the areas that guests would see such as the living and dining areas, balcony, and foyer. But what if you live in a studio and they can see all the rooms the moment they step into the space? It can be difficult to spruce up a small space if you want to add a Christmas tree and tons of ornaments, but with a few easy ideas, you can easily achieve a cozy and magical vibe that you and your visitors would love.

Get your creative juices flowing and consider some of these tips:

Choose a simple color palette

Most small spaces showcase a neutral color palette that's easy on the eyes and may seem to make the limited space bigger. To keep the bedroom relaxing while channeling a Christmas vibe, you may want to maintain a simple color combination in the area. Veer away from bold and vibrant pieces and work with minimalist decor. Opt for cream colored sheets and pair it with white and green ornaments. The final look would be so cozy and relaxing, that you would choose to keep the style even after the holidays!

RL Tip: Consider a rustic style for your bedroom! Play with different textures and shades in brown, white, and cream for a warm and inviting look.

Add a mini tree

Don't let the limited floor area stop you from having a tree! There are tons of alternatives in stores today: from cute collapsible trees to charming tabletop pieces. Choose an area where you can place it—you can add one on the dining table as a centerpiece and another in the living area. These trees do no take up space—you can even have one in the bedroom.

Be creative with Christmas lights

While string lights can liven up your home's facade, these wonders can add a whimsical touch to your bedroom, too! Use it as wall decor or if you have a headboard, you can simply hang it there for a magical vibe.

Work with stylish ornaments

We're used to seeing santa hats, reindeers, and snowmans as accessories during the merry season. To create a stylish and jolly mood in your personal haven, you can work with a framed wall art, a couple of gold and silver ribbons, or a clear glass jar filled with ornaments.

RL Tip: You can also place a silver tray on your bedside table to keep your gadgets, loose change, and other belongings in place.
