To meet this requirement, architect Angelo Siochi opted for an open layout—with the living, dining, and kitchen areas directly connected to each other. The big island can double as a bar during parties, too. We especially love the mirror that expands the space and how the storage units were incorporated into the final look.

The patterned backsplash completes the country-inspired look of this delightful cooking space. Interior designers Dagny Madamba and Tala Singson maximized natural light and perfectly paired touches of white, wooden elements, hints of green, and a few customized pieces to create a dream space.

The owner came up with smart storage solutions and space-saving details to maximize the available space. Opting for a dark color gives the space a streamlined appeal as well.

Why stick to white subway tiles when black can give a space more character? The backsplash in this kitchen designed by interior designer Jen Sohu makes the area more interesting and balances out the dominant white touches. Adding overhead cabinets can help prevent cluttter, too.
