RL Makeovers: Built-in Cabinets for a Small Bedroom
Architects Ivy Tablante-Darilag and Edwin Patriarca used light colors and storage options for a bright, organized space
In this family home, 74-year-old Lola Rosario and her 50-year-old son Aldo share a tiny bedroom. The space looked messy because it had too many cabinets overflowing with books, DVDs, crocheting yarns, and other belongings.
In order to create a clean and clutter-free space, architects Ivy Tablante-Darilag and Edwin Patriarca of Structura Architects replaced the existing freestanding pieces with built-in cabinets. They also moved the large TV away from one window to allow sunlight to enter the space. The natural light, paired with the new neutral color scheme, makes the bedroom appear airy and spacious.
