How can I organize my bags?

Small Space Strategy: Let the back of the door function as bag display.

The back of a bedroom door can be used to showcase your bags. Just mount a few steel hooks and attach bag holders, which maximize the space to accommodate more bags.

Do the same to any plain wall to hold hats, belts, or umbrellas. Allot enough space in between hooks, and keep the items edited so they would end up as décor and not as visual clutter!

Our divider takes up so much space but we need it to separate certain areas.

Small Space Strategy: Define an area using wallpaper.

There are other ways to separate the different areas of the house. In an open plan layout, a patterned wallpaper can anchor either a dining or living area. Other options: a wall with a special texture or a grouping of artwork.

How can I fit an entire sala set into a tiny area?

Small Space Strategy: Invest in one "real" seating piece.

With such a compact living area, Leatrice brought in just one furniture piece instead of trying to fit in the whole gamut of living area staples (and remember, sala sets are passé!). The mocha-colored sectional sofa fits the small space, and is sturdy enough for the long haul.

I love wooden furniture but it's a bit

Small Space Strategy: Counter dark features with light-colored accents.

Keep in mind that dark colros are not forbidden in small spaces. It's a must to balance it out with light colors. Leatrice softened up the client-requested wood panel addition with assorted picture frames in cream colors. Plus, the asymmetrical grouping also does wonders in loosening up the formal vibe of the wood panel.

What can I do with a narrow entryway?

Small Space Strategy: Furnish your entryway to leave a good impression.

Not all small homes have an entryway or foyer, so if yours has one, make it a welcoming sight; It’s the first thing anyone will notice upon opening the front door.

In this unit, architect and decorator Fe Hernal-Porciuncula transformed her client's narrow entryway by adding an accent mirror with a customized, wallpapered frame. Below it is a low table that also serves as an inconspicuous storage for shoes and slippers.
