Are You Ready To Build A Container Van Home?
Read these reminders first before you embark on a fun yet challenging journey

Perhaps what makes Vessel Hostel a hit among guests—apart from giving excellent service and being an ideal place to stay in when in La Union—is its unique structure and undeniable beach vibe.
Made of upcycled container vans, it’s found above architect-couple Buji and Nikki Libarnes’s cozy home which also features the same materials. If you’re curious about building a container van home , here are must-read tips to keep in mind:
On the kind of container you should get
If possible, choose high cube container vans for a better floor-to-ceiling height. It's worth the additional cost.
On moving the container to the site
Check for tight streets and corners as well as trees, portals, and low electrical wires that might get in the way. You will need a vertical clearance of at least 15 feet.
On positioning the container
In determining the proper orientation, consider insulation and sun shading. Remember that you may need an actual crane to lower the container van onto the building site.
