7 Things to Love About this Mediterranean-Inspired House in Laguna

Find out what impressed us the most in this rest house in the province

What could be more special than a home proudly decorated by the homeowners themselves? We love these spaces because every handpicked piece seems to hold an important place in the homeowner's heart.

A shining example of a home planned, furnished, and styled by the homeowners is this two-storey house in Sta. Rosa, Laguna! Here are the 7 things worth a second look in this retirement home:

The Arches in the Living Area

To pay homage to Mediterranean design style, the homeowners specifically asked for arched windows. The unexpected shapes add to the eclectic appeal of the living area.

The Sewing Table Counter

One of the most interesting things in this powder room is the sewing table turned into a bathroom counter!

RL Tip: If you also have an unused antique piece or two in your own home, you may want to use a few coats of paint or varnish.

The Daybed in the Entertainment Area

The entertainment area is furnished with a wooden daybed that serves as a comfortable seat or even as an extra bed. To make it more inviting, the homeowner picked out a few embroidered pillows.

The Door and Window Frames in the Dining Area

If you loved the arched windows in the living area, you may want to spruce up your old doors and windows with wrought-iron or wooden frames. In this dining area, the homeowners adorned the plain entrances and windows with carved decor.

The Coffee Table in the Lanai

After Typhoon Glenda, the homeowner saw a lot of fallen trees in and around their village. This sight inspired him to turn the branches and stumps into furniture and decor.

Two of his pieces — a side table and coffee table — are now prominently displayed in their lanai. You can order similar tables at

The Brick Oven in the Lanai

On one side of the lanai is a brick oven especially built for this family home! The homeowners can use this oven to prepare pizza, barbecue, and other delicious dishes for their family and friends.

The Brick Arch in the Bedroom

Instead of putting up a brick wall, you can consider framing a door or window with a row of bricks! This instantly spruces up a plain surface and adds a rustic touch to your home.
