7 Things to Love About This 54sqm Condo in Mandaluyong

Interior designer Jean Suzanne Sy inspires us to have our own beach-inspired condo in the city

Most interior designers will tell you that it is great to work with homeowners that already know what they want! For example, interior designer Jean Suzanne Sy was pleasantly surprised to find that the owner of this 54sqm condo in Mandaluyong already had design pegs from books, magazines, and websites. These design pegs gave her a better idea of what she could do with the empty space.

If you are also planning your own home makeover, you may want to check out the things that we love in this one-bedroom unit:

The Beach-inspired Color Scheme

To help you feel calm and relaxed, you may want to consider using a lot of blue, brown, and white! These particular shades can remind you of the beach and immediately transport you to a different place.

The Fish on the Wall

Take it from this interior designer and homeowner: a few charming touches can also instantly transform the look of your personal space! In the living area, Jean brightened up the plain blue wall by putting up fish paperweights.

The Living Area Corner

Speaking of charming touches, we also love the framed quote, blue rabbit, and small plants in this particular corner. You can mix and match your own favorite finds for a unique and personalized spot.

The Mismatched Dining Chairs

The dining area is furnished with a long wooden bench and a pair of upholstered seats. Using different seats in the same space is an unexpected way to liven things up.

RL Tip: If you are living in a small home, a wooden bench can also make the dining room seem bigger than it really is!

The White Brick Wall

If you think plain white walls are bland and boring, you may want to consider a white brick wall! This surface is more interesting but it can still serve as the ideal backdrop for furniture and accessories. It also adds a rustic-meets-country feel to any area in your home.

The Printed Backsplash Tiles

Homeowners that are building or renovating their personal sanctuaries may want to choose tiles that are out of the ordinary. Machuca, subway, hand-painted, or even printed tiles on your kitchen backsplash may improve the look of any cooking corner.

The Combination of Textures in the Bedroom

Apart from using different furniture and accessories, you may want to choose different textures. Using different materials with similar colors is a subtle way to spruce up your personal space.

In this master bedroom, the brick wall, winged headboard, eyelet and lace fabrics on the pillowcases, and embossed bed sheets are lovely choices.
