Instead of using colors in their true forms, experiment with their different shades. Try pairing sunshine yellow with teal for an unexpected twist in your room.

Pair a primary color with a neutral shade

Red, blue, and yellow are primary colors that usually come in strong shades. Soften the look by pairing it with a soft brown neutral. You may opt for a neutral colored curtain or couch.

Opt for textures in complementary shades

Instead of going for solid blocks of color in a room, try to inject patterns in shades like purple or orange. Striped curtains give balance to your room’s colors.

Stick with one hue

Sticking with one shade may seem limiting but it can actually give you more options! Try using a relaxing color for your bedroom like blue or green then pair it with accessories in different shades.

Go for white

Always remember that neutral shades like white keep color schemes grounded. It can also make your color scheme versatile. For example, try pairing dark shades like gray or black with white for a sophisticated touch or brown with white for a natural feel.
