Gone are the days when rubber flooring was just reserved for the playground or the gym. Nowadays, more homeowners are discovering the perks of using this humble material and the countless ways it can add character to a space. Here are a few reasons why you should consider using it in your home, too!

1. It is very durable.

Since rubber is significantly dense, flooring made from the same component is bound to be just as tough. It can withstand heavy loads or severe wear and tear with no problems at all.

2. It’s low-maintenance.

Rubber flooring has a natural slip which makes it highly resistant to dirt and grime—all you need for cleaning and maintenance is an all-purpose mop that can pick up dust or residue. Most rubber tiles are made to be stain-resistant so there's no need to worry about spills as well.

3. It’s child-friendly.

Although it has commercial-grade durability, more often than not, rubber flooring is soft to the touch. This makes it a great option for kids' bedrooms, study spaces, or even living rooms that double as a play area. It can also help in relieving fatigue from walking or running for long periods of time.

4. It's a great sound insulator.

If you're the type who enjoys complete peace and quiet, your home may benefit from the sound insulation qualities of rubber flooring. It works especially well if you layer it with hollow hardwood or rooms with thin walls.

5. It resists burns.

Contrary to popular belief, rubber flooring is not a hazard at home and it takes a while before it catches a flame. Additionally, it also doesn't release toxic fumes that can be poisonous during a fire.
