5 Small Kitchens from Pinterest

These spaces are cute, charming, and functional

There's something about seeing lovely photos. Whether it's a photo of a place, a snapshot of accessories, or a screenshot of design pegs–it inspires us to explore and experiment. The same thing applies at home! Whenever we see pretty vignettes and cute interiors, we make it a point to use it as pegs to improve the house.

Nothing beats cooking for the family. Even if you only have a limited area to work with, you can transform the kitchen into a charming space where magic happens. Let these spaces inspire you:

A set of quirky light fixtures can make a difference in any space. Consider hanging bulbs for an industrial feel. You can also recycle jars and bottles.

If you are renovating your small kitchen, you may consider having a breakfast nook that can also work as extra prep space. Use white and wood as dominant elements for a cozy and country-like feel.

Avoid a cramped kitchen space by maximizing natural light. If your kitchen is near a window, keep it open to let sunlight in. Doing this also allows air to circulate. If you're not too comfortable about leaving the window open, use light, sheer curtains.

As with any other small space, storage is of utmost importance. Maximize vertical space by installing shelves. Keep cabinets and drawers organized so you can keep as many supplies and utensils as possible. Doing a kitchen makeover soon? How about working with subway tiles?

Who wouldn't fall in love with this space? It's perfect for condo units and apartments who have a limited area to serve as cooking corner! Create an illusion of longer space by adding an area rug. Work efficiently by using the other side for storage (install shelves and built-in cabinets for pans, pots, and dinnerware) and the other for preparation and actual cooking.
