It’s not surprising why many spend hours scrolling through Pinterest, pinning posts, saving photos, and creating new boards. The site is a black hole of inspiration—whether you’re working on the home, finalizing an outfit, or even whipping up recipes.

If you’ve always wanted to achieve a space that’s bright, homey, and Pinteresty, you may want to take inspiration from this condo unit designed by TKSL Interior Design. It’s equal parts homey, spacious, and inspiring—with clever small space solutions that you’d love to try, too. Get started with your home improvement project with these ideas:

1. Transform your foyer.

Instead of a plain looking entryway, invest in a customized storage center where you can keep shoes, display photos, and even hang bags. It can even have a seating corner where you can get ready before leaving the house.

Consult with a carpenter to see how much a similar entryway would cost. Aside from using a plank of wood and a couple of vintage-inspired hooks for your bags, you can also opt for statement hooks with quirky designs to double as wall art.

2. Use walls to your advantage.

When browsing Pinterest, try looking up vertical space. Once you hit the enter button, you'll have hundreds of ideas to help you make the most of your walls—from turning it into storage to carving out mini gardens. Make use of these ideas in the kitchen. Instead of working with the usual hooks and rods, hang wire baskets and use it to organize pots and cups. Doing so doesn't only keep clutter at bay, it also makes for a nice statement.

3. Showcase a few vintage finds.

Do you still have the old appliances from your first family home? From vintage phones and flat irons to framed black and white photographs and wooden accessories, use these to personalize your space and make it extra special.

4. Have a pièce de résistance.

While a stunning vignette or a well-styled living area is enough to wow your guests, you may want to have a focal piece that can easily grab their attention. You can work with a painting, a glass sculpture, or even an unexpected item that can liven up the walls. The sliding capiz window (as seen above) used as a wall accent adds a vintage, Filipino vibe to the living area.

Drop by thrift stores and garage sales for items you can use.

5. Create an inviting dining area.

We've seen more homes with upholstered banquet seats recently and you can have the same in your home. Especially in compact units, a banquet seat can accommodate more people and you can have it customized to have extra storage space underneath. This allows you to keep extra pillows, magazines, and other essentials organized.

RL Tip: Looking for a new way to display your collections and store your things? Have an industrial-inspired shelf built just for you! You can get in touch with TKSL Interior Design or review the pieces made by Vintage Hardware and Neo Craftsmiths Manila.

6. Be creative with your DIY projects.

Why stick to ordinary terracotta pots when you can give it a colorful upgrade? Use plants as decor in the bedroom and paint the pots in a color that blends well with the rest of the room. In this sleeping space, the red pops out against the neutral colors.

Notice something else? Hollow blocks also complete this room's look. It's used as part of a vignette showcasing the plant above the bed. Aside from painting it white, you can also leave it as is for an industrial vibe.

7. Use machuca tiles as accent.

For a sophisticated touch, you can spruce up your home using machuca tiles, too. Consider adding these beautiful pieces as kitchen backsplash or as accent in the bathroom. It breaks the monotony of the space while adding texture and personality to your T&B.
