Whether it is in the world of beauty, fashion or interior design, trends are very fickle. For every trending paint color, there is a crazy animal print to try—and as fun as it is to experiment with different looks, they can go out of style in a snap and leave you with a passé-looking space. To help you create a beautiful home that will stand the test of time, here are some paint color suggestions you can try:

White

Easy to style around and nearly impossible to look outdated, white might seem like an obvious and boring choice. However, this non-color has a full spectrum of options up its sleeve—feel free to choose from cream, light khaki, gray-white or anything in between.

Gray

If you want to move a little farther away from pale neutrals, gray might be a good color choice that you won’t get tired of too quickly. As a halfway tone between black and white, it is less prone to looking bland but just as easy to match with a variety of decor styles.

Pink

Or to be more specific, the warmer and pastel shades of this sweet hue. While some may think this color should be reserved for nurseries and play rooms, you’d be surprised to know how versatile it is and how it can instantly make a room look sophisticated.

Blue

This is probably the most timeless of all the colors—is there anything more cool and calming than a fresh shade of blue? No matter where you want to use it, be it in the bathroom, bedroom or kitchen, blue never fails to pack a punch.

Yellow

Contrary to what most people think, yellow isn’t an odd choice for main living spaces as long as you stick to the smoother and more toned-down shades. Although it is a tad brighter than neutrals, it can still give a relaxing vibe to a space without making it look old.
