With its ability to take on color and texture, you'd be surprised at how elegant cement can be

When you think of concrete floors, some of the words that might pop into your head are dark, heavy, stiff and unfinished. We can't say we're surprised—but, with the help of modern design and technology, this once unpolished element can bring a one-of-a-kind charm into any space. If you're still thinking twice about trying out this look, here's a list of reasons that might convince you:

1. It’s easy to clean.

As long as you have the right stain and finish, you don’t have to worry about having to deep clean it regularly. With concrete floors, you don’t have to deal with grout, tiny cracks (unless you add score lines or pattern!) and it doesn’t catch food like tiles or laminate flooring does.

2. You have a ton of designs to choose from.

Believe it or not, concrete isn’t limited to shades of gray. There is a great deal of stains, dyes and designs that you can match with the style of your home—High Performance Solutions in Taguig has a variety of options you can choose from.

3. It is economical.

Whether you decide to hire a pro or go the DIY route, you can get the job done in just a few days. You can avoid breakage, buying excess (or losing) materials and skip paying the extra labor hours, too.

4. It looks good with any decor style.

Since there are a ton of designs available, you can adjust it to suit your preferences. With the right accessories and styling, even the most basic concrete flooring can look as stunning as high-end tiles.

5. It helps keep the room cool.

Unlike wood and ceramic tiles, concrete doesn’t retain heat and it can be very cool on your feet. If it gets too cold for you, there’s nothing a good pair of slippers can’t fix.
