4 Tips for a Successful Small Space

With proper space planning and interior design techniques, you can make the most of any small space

We see them all over the metro, high to midrise residential buildings with convenient but compact living space.  They have their perks such as proximity, a superb view, amenities and retails stores nearby but often times the small amount of space can be a turnoff. Here are some easy tips you can execute.

The key to making the most of your small space is to look for places to add storage. Use light colored walls and invite lots of natural sunlight in.  Compact living can be convenient with these easy tips.

Use a lot of white and limit wall color to an accent

White walls invite light and gives an airy feel—itt makes any space look bigger. You can always add color through decor, throw pillows, and artwork. Adding color on an accent wall will work as well.

Hang curtains from the ceiling to give an illusion of height

Hanging curtains with a rod right on top of the window should no longer be the practice and the same goes for blinds. Hang them from the ceiling to achieve a cleaner look and to an illusion of height.

Utilize the vertical space under the stairs

Make the most of compact living by strategically turning the clearance under your staircase into something useful like storage, a powder room, a home office or part of your kitchen.
