Just like the previous years, 2015 has been an exciting year for interior design and architecture. Design professionals never fail to surprise us when it comes to color combos, furniture picks, and other innovative ways to turn a bare space into a home. During last Saturday's first RL Style Talks, design consultant Grace Moslares and interior designers Wilan Dayrit and James Razo discussed the current state of design in the Philippines and what we could expect in the coming years.

Given the wide range of colors, patterns, and furniture to choose from, it can be quite difficult to choose materials and pieces that would be "in." To give you a sneak peek, here are some things to watch for next year—as shared by the design professionals:

The rise of Rose Quartz and Serenity

Since Pantone announced that Rose Quartz and Serenity will be the hot colors next year, we're beyond excited to work with color combinations! Soft shades and pastels can work as great accent colors in any room. You can also consider accessories and furniture showcasing these hues.

According to interior designer Wilan Dayrit, you can create a statement by pairing Rose Quartz and Serenity with Taupe.

More weaving and texture

With the staging of local art fairs, bazaars, and exhibits, homeowners now have more access to stunning pieces showcasing weaving and texture. These items will be more prominent in homes by next year.

2016 will be about you

Given the trends, it can be difficult to reflect all of these in your home. "The trend next year will be about your individuality," shares interior designer Wilan Dayrit. With tons of inspiration online, new stores opening, and brands coming in—we already have a lot to work with. It all boils down to how we can combine these to create a space that speaks of our personality and passions.
