If you are tired of the look of your space, a fresh coat of paint can do wonders. But if you're weary about possible color combinations, you can liven up a wall with other accents such as tiles. Nowadays, these mini rectangles are no longer limited to just plain options! There are items with cute prints and designs—you will surely enjoy choosing one that can easily transform your home.

If it's your first time to work with tiles, here are three tips and ideas to guide you:

Make way for subway tiles

Subway tiles are gaining a huge following these days. And who wouldn't love these pieces? The subway tile became popular in the 1900s when New York City first opened its subway system. Arrange the tiles in a brick-like pattern to create an elegant look.

RL Tip: White subway tiles can immediately transform your kitchen! Pair it with black accent pieces and add a few potted plants to soften the look.

Don't be afraid to experiment

Tiles are often used on bathroom and kitchen walls but these can also work in the other areas of your house. Visit home depots and scout for interior tiles. These can create a focal point in a room since they come in a variety of colors, textures, and surfaces.

RL Tip: Be creative! How about using tiles as wall accent in your bedroom? It will give your personal haven an interesting touch.

Choose colorful tiles

Opt for colorfully patterned machuka tiles for that youthful bohemian vibe! You can use these in kitchen or bathroom, especially if you want to add some color to your space.
