Furnishing your first condo unit can be daunting at first—especially if you don’t know where to start. But once you get the hang of it, you can surely turn your space into a well-decorated and cozy home. To help you get started, interior designer Mica Aquino shares these no-fail must-dos:
Use pin lights
“Kapag nasa center lang ‘yung light, it emphasizes the small size of the unit. Maraming series and styles of pin lights. When you have guests over, you can use it to create a different mood,” says Mica. Consider placing pin lights in all corners of your unit to illuminate the space. Opt for LED lights as these are cheaper and eco-friendly, too.
Focus on finishes and soft furnishings
When it comes to styling your home, prioritize the necessary things first. “My two major considerations are furnishings and the soft materials like the bedding and window treatments,” Mica shares. Once you’ve furnished your home with these musts, you can now start accessorizing your space.

Be cautious with mirrors
A mirror is not always a small space solution that's why you need to use it wisely. It’s not always wise to play with mirrors. “Once you reflect a busy area, it doubles the clutter. Lalong sisikip,” Mica explains. Make sure that if you add a mirror, the area in front of it is clean and clutter-free.
