Don’t forget to measure.

“Our first task in any design project would be to measure the space, to get the dimensions of everything, to plan the layout,” says Misty. When working on a kitchen makeover or renovation, it’s best to work and consult with a professional. They can help you maximize your budget and make sound decisions.

If you are buying new appliances, don’t forget to measure the area where you intend to place it to avoid problems in fitting it to the space. You can also take note of the size and measurements of each product when you visit stores.

Incorporate big appliances like the refrigerator into the overall design.

“One technique would be to hide it. It can look seamless by putting the material of your other cabinets in front of the refrigerator. Parang door siya. You can ask your kitchen supplier to create a door for the ref that’s the same material as your kitchen cabinets,” says Misty.

Store small kitchen appliances like blenders, food processors, and others in cabinets.

Keep in mind these two important tips: Small kitchen appliances must be stored in counter-height cabinets so you can easily get them. Heavy ones and those with glass and blades shouldn’t be stored in overhead cabinets to avoid accidents.

Keep your kitchen appliances clean so they won’t turn into eyesores.

Stoves and ovens can’t be enclosed because they emit heat. Proper maintenance is important. “If you want to showcase them, you have to get a nice oven or stove,” says Pai.

Display gadgets that you use often on the kitchen counter.

“The frequency of use will determine if you will keep it easily accessible or hidden,” says Misty.

Keep wires out of sight.

You can tie them using cable ties or secure them using S-hooks. Misty shares that it also helps if you have outlets nearby. This keeps cords out of the way so you can work on your tasks efficiently. Plan your kitchen well and position outlets in strategic spots to avoid octopus connections.
