What can you do with a 24sqm homeThe Philippine School of Interior Design (PSID) graduating students explore the possibilities through Studio 24, an interior design exhibit with 24 different units that measure 24 square meters each.

One of the 24 spaces is a studio unit for a 35-year-old aircraft mechanic. Here are the 4 things that defined the look of this modern industrial home:

The Industrial High-tech Style

Graduating students Biancci Bautista, Carla Cruz, Bing Urgel, and Paulalyn Zaraspe designed a bachelor pad with industrial high-tech-inspired style. The rustic-modern unit has a surprisingly warm and cozy feel.

The Furniture Made From Wood, Leather, and Metal

If you would like a similar style in your own home, you should consider furniture pieces made from wood, leather, and metal.

In this particular space, the students chose a Chesterfield sofa and wooden tables with metal legs.

The Unexpected Print

Since the modern-meets-rustic theme of the home can appear too cold and dull, you can also choose a few surprising details.

For example, in this particular corner used as a home office, the students chose to hang up a colorful piece of fabric.

The Finishing Touches

To personalize the space, the students also picked out a few accessories, including a silver table lamp on the side table beside the Chesterfield sofa. Hanging above the living and dining area are two pendant lamps.

Since the homeowner is an aircraft mechanic, the students put a subtle reference to airports: a wall of clocks set according to different time zones.

Studio 24 will run from October 3 to 31, 2015 at the Ronac Lifestyle Center, Paseo de Magallanes, Makati City. Admission is free.
