Turn a nook into a mini-washroom.

No space for a powder room? Use a nook. Designers Monica Lagman, Chelle Laborte, and Tantan Pambid transformed an empty nook between rooms into a mini-washroom with traviesa wood and antiques in lieu of an actual powder room.

Try bold color.

Tomato red walls draw the eye in from a narrow hallway into interior designer and stylist Leo Almeria’s dangerously glamorous powder room.

Make it warm.

Wood can add warmth to a powder room, and since it doesn’t get wet often, you can use it here liberally—just like how exotic wood and dramatic lighting transformed Jenny Ligones’s powder room into a luxurious, spa-like haven.

Be creative and go wild.

You have the right to pull out all the stops in a tiny powder room. Meow Ferrer does this in his apartment’s powder room, decking it with mosaic, lanterns, and mirrors to rival a cool club.

Rough it up.

The bare concrete wall in designer Tippi Ocampo’s unused second bathroom was not intentional. She emphasized the obvious by hanging an ornate mirror, and curtained off the shower to transform it into a powder room.

Choose a beautiful sink.

Since it is not as oft used as a regular bathroom, it can have delicate toilet fixtures such as this floral sink, which interior designer Vivian Gacad admits is her favorite thing in the house.
