For Heima and My Apt. owners Bong Rojales and Rossy Yabut-Rojales, the best part about coming home is seeing each other at the end of the day. And the second best part? We're guessing that it would have to be the sheer sight of their bright, vibrant, and colorful space! After all, being surrounded by the bold blues, rich greens, and sunny yellows could practically make any homeowner smile from ear to ear.

If you would like to create your own happy place in the city, here are 5 things that we can learn from this 160sqm condo in Mandaluyong:

Start with good art

Bong and Rossy welcome guests into their personal space with a handpicked piece of art by Kris Abrigo. Something like this gives family and friends a clear idea of what to expect in the rest of the home.

RL Tip: You can also define the entrance of your home with one oversized artwork or a trio of interesting posters.

Use a vintage trunk as a coffee table

There are many things that can inspire us in this couple's living area. We liked the white brick wall, the colorful artwork, and the gray sofa topped with a teal throw and different throw pillows. We also thought that the gray and yellow area rug is the perfect choice.

Another thing to love about this specific room? The black trunk that serves as a coffee table! You can also use an old baul as a center table in your own living area.

Invest in a bar cart

Instead of installing wall-mounted shelves or bringing in a new cabinet, you may want to purchase a rolling bar cart. Although this is intended for serving wine and other beverages, you can also use it to store your favorite things.

Paint mismatched chairs white

For an eclectic and playful look, we have often advised homeowners to choose mismatched chairs for the dining area. You may also want to paint the pieces white for a clean and streamlined feel.

Opt for a light blue wall

How can you make your master bedroom more relaxing? Sometimes, the trick is to simply choose a new paint color. A light blue, mint green, or even a soft yellow could be ideal for your own bedroom walls.
