4 Ways to Create a Cozy Industrial Look
You can achieve a homey look by adding contemporary elements
The industrial style is one of the easiest looks to maintain and is perfect for modern homes and condos. To make the look work, wood and metal are used while floors, walls, beams, and pipes are left exposed. While some may think that the industrial look is cold and bare, you can make a few adjustments to make it more homey. Be inspired by how interior designer Wilmer Lopez added a homey vibe in this condo and take note of these tips:
Use repurposed or upcycled furniture and accessories
Pieces made from scrap materials often suit an industrial-style home and also make for great conversation pieces.
Display your collection
In any home, showcasing your collectibles may they be vintage toys or framed prints instantly add personality. Use them to create vignettes on a console or coffee table, or allot a specific spot for them, like a shelf or a cabinet with glass doors.
Add soft furnishings
Balance the predominantly masculine look by accessorizing with throws, pillows, area rugs, and upholstered pieces. These elements can help make your home look less intimidating and more welcoming.
Use different finishes to keep your home from looking monotonous
For the flooring, Wilmer kept the concrete bare in some areas, while he installed pinewood flooring on the others. Doing this gave the unit a variety of textures that help liven it up.
