Style Your Foyer in 4 Easy Steps

Create impact while giving your guests a warm welcome

Original Article: Katherine Lopez Photography: Michael Angelo Chua Styling: Dagny Madamba and Paula de Guzman

Whether's a newly furnished condo or an old home that you updated, we want our spaces to be a cut above the rest. Since the foyer is the first thing that you and your guests would see, it needs to make an impression. The situation is: how can you make it pretty and stylish when it's also a spot where you leave keys, bills, and the like?

You can maintain order in your foyer while keeping it chic and inviting. Consider these easy must-dos:

Pick sleek furniture

Choose a console table with slim legs and an open bottom so the space won’t look cramped.

Use different textures

Create an interesting vignette by playing with textures. A wood-metal-console can be paired with accessories made from natural materials, like a hurrican lamp and a woven basket.

Add a statement piece

Anchor the area with a statement-making wall hanging or mirror. You may also add an area rug to achieve a balanced look.

Limit the number of accessories

Keep in mind that you don't have to fill up the entire surface! Go for an asymmetrical arrangement of accessories to make the look casual yet updated. You may choose to add your favorites or work with a certain theme in mind.
