There are days when you simply want to reflect, read a good book, and go on a social media hiatus. You can't help but miss the days when you go through your tasks without posting updates on Facebook and Instagram from time to time.

If you've recently decided to create a corner where you can enjoy some downtime, you may turn an unused corner into a special nook where you can take a much needed rest. Consider these tips that will surely help you achieve this goal:

Invest in proper storage

Depending on the available floor area, make sure you have the right storage pieces—whether it's a small cabinet or a couple of nesting tables. You can place your stack of books on the table. When looking for pieces to buy, you may opt for varied looks to create a richer overall look.

Throw in some blankets

Provide blankets and throws on the couch for a more casual vibe. A series of soft cushions in neutral tones will add a lot of comfort with minimal visual distraction.

Use a rug

Place a rug that’s soft enough to sit on. A rug with a perimeter lining will define the space and create a polished look.

Add a refreshing touch

Add potted plants to the space, calling to mind the carefree vive of reading in a park on a quiet afternoon.
