When it comes to giving your space a new look, you don't always have to resort to buying new pieces. Sometimes, it involves a little creativity and moving the pieces that you own. Aside from experimenting with a new layout, you may want to borrow furniture from another room and place it another area. Combining styles and mixing and matching pieces are no-cost ways that you can do to achieve a home upgrade.

Here are four ideas that you may want to work on:

Piece: Dining chair

What to do: Move to the bedroom

Don't have a side table in your bedroom? Use an extra dining chair instead! Place your alarm clock, table lamp, and a few decor pieces on top. Utilize the space under the chair as storage for books and other belongings.

Piece: Small shelf

What to do: Move to the bathroom

If you have an unused, small, and slim shelf in your living area or bedroom, move it to the bathroom instead. You can definitely use it to keep bathroom supplies in place. Organize your essentials accordingly. Place neatly folded towels and decor pieces on a tray on the topmost tier. Extra shampoo and lotion bottles, soap, and tissue paper can occupy the bottom part.

Piece: Sofa bed

What to do: Move to the living area

Hosting a party anytime soon? Make sure that your guests are comfortable by having extra seats. If you're expecting a guest, and don't have an extra room, he or she can stay in the living area with this piece. You can even use it for family movie nights!

Piece: Hammock

What to do: Move to the bedroom

Want to experiment with a new look for your bedroom? How installing an old hammock in your bedroom? This will give your haven a cool, laidback vibe as well as serve as extra sleeping space for your friends!
