4 DIY Condo Hacks You Can Work On
Improving your small space can be easy with these tips
We’re sure that those who’ve just moved into a new home are in the process of adjusting to additional responsibilities like paying the bills, taking note of monthly dues, and other important matters related to having your own space.
Since we’re always on the lookout for ways on how to save on home improvement costs, you may want to get started on a DIY route instead. A few hacks here and there can go a long way—especially if you want to personalize your home and make it stand out. Take note of these reminders from homeowners we've met:
1. Work around a theme.
When it comes to decorating and completing the space, it can be easier if you have a theme in mind. This would make it easier for you to collate pegs from magazines and websites, source for pieces, and do the actual shopping. To make it simpler, you can showcase your theme through décor like wall art, accessories, and other daily essentials.
2. Turn photos into wallpaper.
Have you ever experienced an instance wherein your preferred print or pattern isn’t available in stores? As an alternative, you can look for free photos online then have it enlarged and turned into a DIY sticker/wallpaper. You can also use travel or scenic photographs that you already have.
3. Dress up a mirror.
Mirrors are go-to solutions when homeowners want to create an illusion of space. Keep in mind not place it in front of a busy area to avoid a cluttered and cramped look. To keep it from looking too plain, you can decorate the frame with decals and paint. Doing so will give you an instant wall art too!
4. Go for something unexpected.
Some think that condo units look the same—it has a standard layout with ordinary furniture. Turn your small space into a memorable haven by adding a few unexpected touches that create an impact. It can be a makeshift reading nook featuring towers of books, a sliding glass door in the bathroom, and even pipes turned into shelves that also work as conversation starters.
