When it comes to our dream home, we only want the best furniture and well-thought-out accessories. If you want to achieve a luxurious feel, you can make it happen without worrying about costs.

Interior designer Rod Lascano shares tips on what to prioritize and where to pull out all the stops when designing your space.

Forego the faux finishes

“Flooring in natural finishes, such as stone and marble along with textured finishes in earthy hues, elevates the look of the space,” shares Rod.

Stone and marble are one of the best materials that you can use for your floors as these are durable and easy to clean. These choices can last for a long period of time as well.

Invest in quality pieces

“Your space can be a great avenue to display your precious collection. Choose furniture made by the trusted and quality brands such as Ethan Allen, Calligaris, and BoConcept. These are good brands to start with as they provide seamless, classic designs that suit the most discerning tastes,” explains the designer.

If you are thinking about budget, you don't have to splurge on a piece in a snap! You can save up for your dream furniture and plan which pieces to buy first.

Work on lighting

For those living in condo homes, keep in mind that prime developers don't scrimp on ceiling height. "Invest in a window treatment that’s made of quality materials so you can effectively control the amount of light that enters the room," suggests Rod.
