Despite the size of your home—be it a condo, a townhouse or a mansion, there’s at least a door or two that you use on a daily basis. For example, the closet door in your room or the bathroom door in the hallway. These taken-for-granted home pieces collect scuff marks, greasy handprints and general dirt over time. The easy solution? Use a feather duster to remove the dust on the door and a rag to take away any scratches. By doing this, you'll have doors that look brand new! Check out other doorway maintenance solutions below:

RL Tips:

  • Keep door hinges in good condition. Make sure you tighten them at least once a year to avoid constant replacement.
  • Clean up the area around doors that lead outside to avoid debris from getting into your home, or worse, building up around your foyer.
  • Wipe down door knobs frequently with warm soapy water. If your budget allows it, an antibacterial spray is a nice addition, too.
  • Switch up the look of your doorway by painting it at least once every few years to keep the look fresh.
