How to Achieve a Cleaner, More Organized Tiny Home
Don't let clutter stop you from having a cozy and functional haven. Here are 8 storage ideas to help you.
One of the challenges of living a small home involves finding space for your belongings. Bags, shoes, clothes, books, and other must-haves can easily take over your space, keeping you from enjoying it to the fullest. Fortunately, you can keep it clean and comfortable even if you don’t have huge cabinets. Here are clever and DIY solutions you can do to create an organized home sweet home:
1. Look under your bed.
See the space waiting to be maximized? You can keep slim bins under the bed to keep shoes, books, and other essentials in place. There are also beds with hidden drawers and compartments to help keep your favorite things within arm’s reach.
2. Shop for a fancy divider.
No closet? No problem! Conceal your clothes rack and achieve privacy using a divider you can spruce up with photos and quirky prints.
3. Maximize racks.
Speaking of racks, these are handy storage must-haves that can help you organize clothes and bags. Adjustable steel racks are readily available in hardware stores and can be placed in the bedroom or storage room.
4. Stack it up.
Minimalist acrylic bins are versatile must-haves you can use when storing shoes, accessories, and extra linen. These are available in different sizes too so you can stack them up in a corner so you can save on space. Some storage units come with the lid in front so you can easily get what you need without going through the other bins.
5. Create a fancy accent wall.
Maximizing the available vertical space gives you extra storage while allowing you to showcase your favorite things at home. Using rods, knobs, and pegs you can create a bag wall featuring your favorite bags or a lovely shoe display highlighting some of your cute flat shoes and sandals.
6. Make it quirky with medical cabinets.
Vintage medical storage cabinets, which are available in Evangelista, Kamuning, and HMR, can be used when storing toiletries, accessories, and other tiny knickknacks. Use it as accent piece by installing one in the kitchen, in your bedroom, and in the bathroom.
7. Use your curtains.
In a small space, it’s easy to spot eyesores. Avoid creating distractions by concealing a tiny storage nook or a shelf filled with shoes with a beautiful curtain.
8. Invest in built-ins.
Built-in desks, drawers, and tables are welcome additions to a tiny home. Use these to organize books, work essentials, and other personal belongings while saving on floor space. Since the space underneath is free, you can fit in low racks or storage ottomans to accommodate more items.
