You get a plate on your dish rack and it bangs with the other dishes. You spend an eternity looking for that teaspoon buried under all your spoons and forks. These are common scenarios in the kitchen, which can be irritating because of the noise you make while getting all these things. Aside from this, you also risk having dinnerware with chips and cracks. Give your dining essentials some love by storing them properly with these easy must-dos:

1. Get a drying rack with wider intervals.

Leave enough space between your plates when storing them on a rack so they won’t rub or bang against each other. This wooden rack also looks great on your kitchen countertopit’s pretty enough to also serve as décor.

2. Pad your dishes when stacking them.

Put paper plates in between your dishes when stacking them inside your cabinets. Doing so helps prevent your plates from getting scratched. If you don’t have paper plates, paper kitchen towels can also do the job.

3. Get a cutlery tray.

A cutlery tray has partitions that help you separate spoons from forks, teaspoons from knives. Store them this way so you don’t have to dig through all your cutlery when looking for a spoon or a fork. This protects your cutlery from scratches, too.

4. Line your cabinet or shelves with a rubber mat.

A non-slip, rubber mat helps keep your plates in place when stored in shelves or cabinets. This also keeps your plates from getting scratched by the wooden surface of your cabinets.
