Declutter Your Closet With A Simple Hanger Hack

Are you guilty of having a closet with plenty of clothes that have never seen daylight? We must admit that it can be hard to part with pieces you've invested in, but these unused clothes can prevent you from making the most of your cabinets. While it's difficult to let go, there's an easy way to help you determine which ones are for keeps. Interior designer Elle Uy offers an easy hack for weeding out clothing you no longer need. 

The quick fix? Inverted hangers. The idea is to separate what you've used from what you haven't. Start by taking out all the clothing items you own and putting them up with all the hangers facing the other way. Go about your daily routine and pull clothes out as you normally would. When returning them to your closet, make sure you hang them the right way.

At the end of the year or a six-month mark, open your closet and remove every piece of clothing on a backward hanger. You'd be surprised to see how many items you don't really wear! Once you've fixed these unused items, consider giving them away to someone who would make use of the clothes or bringing it to a charity or orphanage that you support.
