A KonMari Reality Show Is Coming To Netflix
Will de-cluttering diva Marie Kondo's new show spark joy?
She has taught us how to systematically sort, purge, and organize our belongings without sentiment or distractions. She showed us how to fold and store our clothes perfectly. And she even developed an app to keep us in check with our daily organizing duties.
Oh, our homes would be far messier places without Marie Kondo, the Japanese organizing guru who developed the KonMari method of organizing and whose book, The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up, is a worldwide bestseller. Now the organizing guru has recently announced that she is teaming up with top streaming company Netflix to create a KonMari reality show, according to this article in The Hollywood Reporter.
The article reports that the eight-episode season will feature Kondo guiding people in transforming their homes and lives. In December of last year, Kondo posted an open casting call on her Facebook page (below), and mentioned, “On this new series, I will be working with people to transform their home & [sic] spark a personal transformation.” The casting call was limited to the LA area.
We can’t wait for this new series, and perhaps it will spark joy in the lives of Netflix’s subscribers. But does this mean we have to purge our Black Mirror-watching-habit? Let’s see.
