Create an organized bodega with the help of these tips

Let's admit it. Having a storage room or bodega gives us a special place where can easily dump old pieces of furniture and items that we no longer use. However, not maintaining the storage room and leaving it in disarray may cause pests and unwanted clutter.

Make the most of your storage room by keeping it clean and storing things properly. Let these four easy steps help you.

Create an inventory

Keep track of the things that you own! List down the number of decor, furniture, and other supplies that you have so you can monitor which pieces you can keep, donate, or throw.

Always check your furniture and see which pieces need to be repaired or discarded. Keeping things that you can no longer use only creates clutter.

Paint the walls

Liven up the space by painting the walls with vibrant colors like yellow or green. You may even decorate it with wallpaper or wall decals. Keep in mind that a storage area need not be boring!

Group items together

Place all similar items in clear plastic containers so that it’s easy for you to find them. Group decor pieces together and if you have a corner in the storage room meant for consumables, make sure you place these items in an accessible part of the room.

Add shelves and boxes

A storage room is often small in size, that’s why it’s essential to maximize every inch of space! Place shelves against the walls and fill it accordingly. Stack heavy items at the bottom then place frequently used items on top.

RL Tip: If you have a high ceiling, you may build a ledge to store seasonal items like Christmas décor. If the space allows, you may even add extra boxes underneath!
