Bed sheets serve a purpose not far from our clothes—they keep us warm and comfortable through sleeping at night or chilling in the day. However, just like our daily wear, it can easily accumulate dirt and bacteria, which eventually turn into unpleasant odors.

While it is impossible (not to mention, incredibly wasteful) to wash them daily or weekly, you can do something to keep it smelling pleasant in between changes.

According to a helpful tip from Apartment Therapy, you can use fabric softener to freshen up your bed linens: "Put a (little) bit of fabric softener in a spray bottle, fill it with water and spritz a few sprays here and there. Your home will smell so clean and fresh and you save money because fabric spray tends to be expensive."

Smart, right? Not only will it save you a few extra pennies, you're sure that it won't damage any fabric items you own since you already use it as a part of your laundry routine. If you ask us, this trick doesn't have to be kept solely for beds—you can use this on your curtains, window coverings, and fabric upholstery, too.
